The American Jazz Museum is located in Kansas City's Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. To really experience the history of jazz, the museum features interactive exhibits and films, educational programs, the Changing Gallery, the Blue Room jazz club and the Gem Theater, a 500-seat performing arts center. Hundreds of jazz musicians and talent are featured and remembered here, including Charlie Parker, Count Basie, Big Joe Turner, and hundreds of others who helped define the sounds of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Fans of jazz, and music in general, should not miss the opportunity to experience the legends, honor and legacy left behind by these historical figures.
