The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum was created in the early 1990s. It is located in Kansas City's Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District and includes a number of photographs and interactive displays. The once "untold American history" of Negro baseball is now a cultural tradition and center of education for the nation. It is on the Register of Historic Places. Visitors will learn the incredible story of the early years of baseball and African-Americans began to play baseball in the late 1800s on military teams, college teams, and company teams. They eventually found their way to professional teams with white players.
